Robots vs. Drama Queens

Human’s build walls. Big, tall, couldn’t bash that shit down with a sledgehammer crane walls. Once you get hurt it’s natural to shut down your emotional system and completely shy away from finding a real connection with someone other than a fictional character (Damon Salvatore could we BE more in love with you?) or someone other than your dog (Loyal? Yes. A permanent human replacement? Erm, no).

So why is it deemed almost a good quality to act so emotionally disconnected?

We’re allowed to have emotions and we’re damn right permitted to feel what we want without feeling crazy. Like wow you’re jealous he’s talking to another girl. Psycho alert. Oh no you’re catching feelings? You must be weak. You’re crying over an ex? Drama queen. Stop with this already. We’re human beings not robots.

Is it really that terrifying to establish an actual emotional connection with someone?

This question is not just secluded to your love life, I’m talking about social lives here. Don’t be afraid to ask your work colleague to hit the bar at the end of the night. See a friend of a friend out? Go say hi! Studies reveal the more sociable you are, the happier you become.

The big secret?

I’m not saying the secret to life is to surround yourself with people. Everyone needs their alone time. But what I am saying is there’s nothing wrong with feeling whatever you damn right choose to feel. We weren’t meant to live life secluded and emotionless. But that’s exactly the way the human race is going if we’re all so ready to jump on this robotic band wagon.
